Beginnings

 

Forest River began in 1996 in Elkhart, Indiana, the RV capital of the world. Peter Liegl, the CEO, wanted to build a company that manufactured better-designed RVs and trailers that meet consumers’ needs. The small company he started has grown to acquire other holdings and was purchased by Berkshire Hathaway in 2005, allowing for further innovation and development.

 

One popular model is the Wildcat, a spacious and amenity-filled travel trailer recently named Best In Show by RV News. FROG

FROG holds a rally for RV owners every August in Goshen, Indiana, not far from the company headquarters in Elkhart. Members can enjoy entertainment, swap stories, take factory tours, and more. The group boasts over 75,000 members who can connect with each other via the internet to plan trips and share maintenance tips. It’s a real benefit to being a Forest River owner to be part of this fine association.
